Description: As part of a promotion for a number of their series, Tatsunoko put out two Gatchaman "Premium Selection" tapes in January, 1999. Each tape had two uncut episodes. Unlike earlier "best-of" compilations, these tapes did not start out with episode one, they contained uncommon choices to be singled out for releases. These also mark the first Gatchaman product to have been sold by Warner Vision Japan. The tapes were released in white clamshell cases with printed art inserts. The art for the tapes was original, not having appeared on any other product prior. Early buyers of the tapes were rewarded with a Gatchaman phone strap. These tapes were also released in upgraded versions as part of a special box set honoring animator/designer Yoshitaka Amano. To date, these tapes along with the Amano box set versions remain as the last Gatchaman releases to the VHS format. Monaural
